$1,000 Wedding Venue: The Mayor’s Balcony – SF City Hall
Nora and Cameron recently took part in the woodland wedding trend, and they had the most magical day, as you can see from their photos! They met on the Hinge dating app and decided to have a destination elopement with just their families present.
A woodland wedding is a very popular for couples who want a unique ceremony with deep meaning. Many couples have romanticized it in the media and hailed it as environmentally friendly. So many options exist in the San Francisco area for a #mountainwedding.
You can take this theme to extremes with a barefoot ceremony and a candlelight path in the forest, or you can keep it simple and just let the beauty of the woods surround you and your partner. You can drive less than an hour from San Francisco for a fully immersive forest experience. This particular area, Muir Beach, also has parking and a bathroom facility that’s easy for parents and grandparents to navigate so they can be included on the big day.
Wedding color trends for 2022 will perfectly match the woodland wedding experience. Instead of the pastel hues, blush tones, and baby blues that have been on-trend in recent years, 2022 will take a sharp turn toward vibrant pink-purples, earthy olive greens, soft buttery yellows, tropical oranges, and ocean blues. Trend forecasters also predict that 2022 wedding floral trends will include dried florals, greenery, earthy tones, and vintage metallics (goodbye glam gold, hello antique brass, and rich patina mirrored finishes).
Nora chose soft white peonies and earthy green eucalyptus for her bridal bouquet. This year, the white and green motif was very trendy, and the flowers blended in perfectly with the woodland wedding theme they were going for. It looked like she could have picked them herself in the woods!
We held the ceremony at Muir Beach Overlook with our officiant. Nora’s dress is “Willowby by Watters Hearst Gown” from BHLDN.com, and it pulled off the fairy/nymph look with perfection. Just look at the leafy lace detail on her dress, and you will see how it is the ideal selection for a woodland wedding! BHLDN.com and Lulus.com are both excellent choices for finding an affordable yet stunning wedding dress.
Woodland weddings are a charming way to plan an elopement. It is a celebration of love in the forest, where you can have your friends and family around to witness the union of two people who have found each other. With all these options available, I’m sure that not only will woodland weddings continue to become even more popular, but also they’ll never lose their charm as more couples find themselves drawn to this type of ceremony.
