TRENDING! Colorful Flower Themed Wedding
This was one of the most exciting wedding planning journeys I'd been on in a long time. Our bride knew what she wanted and our team worked hard to find a new Coastal wedding location perfect for her colorful flower-themed wedding day. This beautiful fresh and inviting trend has been featured everywhere online this year and we needed to find a perfect new location. She had already seen some weddings we'd photographed at Montara State Beach and loved the vibe. But, she also wanted seating for her guests during the ceremony and easy access for her senior relatives with mobility issues. The long flight of stairs down to the beach at Montara State Beach wouldn't work.
Many of our wedding couples in the Half Moon Bay area stay locally or like Elana and Thomas, they rent a large Airbnb for their whole family to enjoy. If you compare the prices of accommodations in the Half Moon Bay area, to those of our other popular coastal locations you'll find is very affordable. We also plan and photograph elopement weddings in Monterey and Carmel California, and it can be significantly more crowded and expensive during high season. For couples who like a more private atmosphere, we invite you to consider Half Moon Bay California.
The magical wedding ceremony spot she finally decided on was the Mirada Coast West Coastal Trail. This is a coastal walking trail right off a paved road with plenty of parking. The ground is level and easy to walk on, and a few steps from your car, you and your guests will arrive at a lovely tree-shaded area with wedding chairs set up. (If you book wedding chair service) Our bride and groom chose to stand in the sunshine on a perfectly green lawn for their wedding ceremony. They were elevated on a bluff above the beach, so the blue rolling ocean waves created the perfect backdrop. The bluffs are not so high that you couldn't navigate down to the beach for more wedding photography.
Alana wanted a comprehensive wedding photography gallery, and we arranged multiple beach and forest locations for their wedding day pictures. I'm going to bring you along on their wedding day and share the itinerary.

"Getting ready" photography at their beautiful Airbnb. You can add hair and makeup to any of our packages, and your photographer can document your transformation into a beautiful bride. It's also a great time for us to take some pictures of your precious details, like your shoes, vow books, and bridal bouquet.
Our florist Marina (Yes, you can order your bridal bouquet and boutonniere's through us as well) outdid herself with Alana's lush and colorful spring bridal bouquet.

Montara State Beach for pictures high atop the succulent-covered cliffs. This is a favorite spot of ours for beach engagements and elopement weddings. There are miles of white sand, massive crashing waves, and redrock cliffs that are HIGH! You can take some very classic California wedding photography here. Best of all, this spot is never crowded at all, so you'll have plenty of privacy to snuggle with your love.
1:00 to 1:30
The Cypress Trees at Half Moon Bay. This unique forest with a high leafy canopy atop the gnarled cypress trees, offers an otherworldly feeling as you pose under these massive trees, sculpted by years of ocean winds that twist them into living sculptures. Whoever planted them many years ago, must have had couples in love on their mind. The path offers the perfect promenade to walk through on your way to the ocean overlook. Our soon-to-be newlyweds stopped by on their way to the wedding, and I know they're glad they did!
1:40-2:15
Drive back to the Airbnb for an outfit change! Yes, you can wear two or more outfits on your wedding day if you'd like to. This bride stayed with her nature and floral theme throughout her day. Some couples opt to wear traditional cultural outfits for part of their wedding day, and American wedding outfits for the rest, while others keep it pure modern and shop till they drop!
2:50-3:50
The guests have all been seated at the intimate wedding ceremony location, and the bride is walked down the aisle to marry her love. This was a beautiful bright and cheery spot, perfect for their vows to be spoken aloud in front of their friends and family. After the kiss to seal the deal, they completed their family pictures. With one more couples session on the beach below their ceremony site, they wrapped up their big day with us. Their wedding package came with three hours of wedding photography, wedding chair setup and removal, a large custom bridal bouquet, and hair and makeup.
Total cost? $2500.
