Romantic Lighthouse Elopement? YES!!!
This self-proclaimed "sweet and goofy" couple met through Tinder in Toronto, Canada. After a very successful first date making sushi together, they knew they had a special connection and have been inseparable ever since.
Once the border with the US and Canada was open again, they set off to have an elopement wedding in Half Moon Bay, California. This historic seaside town boasts cliffs and white sand beaches and sometimes impressive fog, which only adds to the romantic atmosphere (Think Twilight!).
They booked a room at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay, and although they do offer lovely wedding packages, these two wanted something more unique and personal.
We have worked out an arrangement with the Montara Lighthouse to be able to have elopements (No guests for now, just the couples, officiant, and photo/videography team) on the property, which is currently closed to the public. What an incredible treat it is to have the use of the colorful cliffs, succulent covered trails, and private beach almost all to ourselves for two hours.
I could go on and on, but the photos tell the story even better than I could. Taylor and Nicholas chose our all-inclusive package, so she was treated to hair and makeup in their hotel room, and we had our florist design the bouquet of her dreams. How do we make sure that you're happy with these services? I get asked that question a lot, and here's how it works...
When we have a couple that's booked the hair and makeup option, and/or bouquets and boutonnieres, we send them a questionnaire. This is your opportunity to upload a photo of your face, so our artists can see what you look like before they arrive on your wedding day. They can prepare all of the necessary materials that they'll need to bring. You'll also upload your inspiration photos for hair and makeup and usually, a snapshot or two from Pinterest will do the trick. The same goes for the flower selection! That way there's no guesswork and plenty of smiles.
The message we got from Taylor at the end of their wedding day says it all:
"Everything went great today! The hair and makeup were lovely, the flowers were beautiful and Laura (their photographer on our team) was great to work with! The sun peeked through the clouds and the lighthouse property was as stunning as you promised. Thank you for everything!"
