Magical San Francisco Elopement
Reanna and Chad’s intimate San Francisco City Hall wedding was a day filled with fun details, a trip to the local Japanese Tea Garden, and the most beautiful weather imaginable.
Reanna and Chad first met all the way back in 2012. At a time when they were just starting their careers in the Air Force. But their quick friendship turned out to be short-lived when they both received orders to opposite sides of the globe. Over the next decade, their paths continued to wind in different directions. Until the summer of 2022, when, by chance, they were both stationed in California.
About a month before Reanna was about to make her big move to California, she received a message from Chad. That single spark of conversation turned into a lunch date. From that very moment on, they never went a single day without speaking. They were both absolutely smitten with each other. After having grown over the last decade, they were able to form a deep connection based on mutual respect, love, and ever present communication.
In fact, when we asked Reanna about their relationship, she called Chad her soulmate. They both also noted, that upon reflection, even through they had spent over a decade apart, they wouldn’t change a thing. It was that time apart allowed them to grow and experience life before finding love with each other.

Reanna & Chad’s Intimate San Francisco City Hall Wedding
When it came to planning their wedding, Reanna and Chad both had the same thought. They wanted to splurge on a globe-trotting honeymoon and keep their wedding day intimate. Shortly after their engagement, they began diving into city hall wedding ideas. Realizing how quickly they could plan their San Francisco City Hall wedding, they chose an upcoming date in October. To which they both agreed would be the perfect month to say I do.
Personalized San Francisco City Hall Wedding Ceremony
When Reanna and Chad’s San Francisco City Hall wedding day arrived, we met for photos of getting ready moments in their suite at the 1 Hotel San Francisco. Chad was fastening his suit coat, which was custom embroidered with his and Reanna’s names along with their wedding date. Meanwhile, Reanna was putting her birdcage veil in place and buckling her retro-style blue suede shoes. Their wedding day style was as bold as their love, and their attention to detail for their intimate city hall wedding underscored the significance of the next step they were embarking on together.
Once we arrived at San Francisco City Hall, we captured wedding phtotos of Reanna & Chad by the marble staircase. This open space is accented by the stone archways and illuminated by golden light. Making it the perfect location for city hall wedding photos.
Reanna and Chad’s ceremony was held on the second floor of SF City Hall. Here, against the grand setting of the domed ceilings, they promised to love one another for all of their days. To make their vows a unique representation of their love, Reanna and Chad also included a handfasting in their ceremony. Their officiant gently wrapped a braided cord around their wrists as they recited their vows.

Time to Celebrate
Once Reanna & Chad were pronounced married, a small group of guests awaited their arrival by the exit doors of the city hall. Everyone was overjoyed to see Reanna and Chad, for the first time, as a newlywed married couple. Glasses of bubbly were served to everyone. But that wasn’t all, a wedding cake with the cutest dog toppers added a layer of yum to their celebration.

When we first spoke with Reanna and Chad about their wedding, Reanna let us in on their proposal story. At the time, Chad faked a ‘tea tasting’ at the Japanese Friendship Garden at Balboa Park. But it was all a ruse to ask Reanna if she would marry him. Chad knows all too well that Reanna admires Japanese culture, and the setting of the park offered a beautiful backdrop for him to propose.
Naturally, after their intimate San Francisco City Hall wedding was official, we worked with Reanna and Chad on wedding portraits at the local Japanese Tea Garden. It was a beautiful way to tie together their story from beginning to end, while capturing images of their wedding day that felt like them.
