Romantic Victorian Wedding Venue
Elegant Winter Wedding at The Palace of Fine Arts
When Hannah and Cory first met in college, no one could have predicted that their love story would lead them to a cliff-top elopement on the stunning coast of Northern California. Introduced through mutual friends in Washington DC, their connection was immediate, and soon enough, they were inseparable. Fast forward a few years, and the couple had settled back in Virginia, building a life together. But one thing remained: a deep love for California, the place where they shared countless memories during their time living there.
So, when it came time to tie the knot, they knew they wanted to return for one last adventure before settling down for good. And what better way to do it than with an intimate elopement surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty?
Why Montara State Beach?
When planning their California elopement, Hannah and Cory turned to Rachel Levine Photography, who also served as their wedding planner. They wanted the ceremony to reflect the special connection they had with California while also staying true to their love for the outdoors. After exploring various locations, Rachel introduced them to Montara State Beach — a hidden gem along the coast, known for its dramatic red rock cliffs and sweeping ocean views.
After seeing photos of the beach’s rugged cliffs and serene shoreline, it was love at first sight. The couple was instantly drawn to the idea of saying their vows with the ocean waves crashing below them, the cliffs towering above, and the entire landscape acting as a stunning backdrop to their love story.
The Ceremony
On their wedding day, the couple stood at the edge of a cliff, the wind gently tousling their hair, as they exchanged heartfelt vows. With no distractions other than the soothing sounds of nature, their ceremony felt deeply personal and incredibly special. The beauty of the location made the moment feel timeless and magical — just the two of them, promising forever, with the Pacific Ocean stretching endlessly behind them.
A Boho Picnic Celebration
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a boho-inspired picnic on the cliff’s edge, offering a cozy and stylish way to mark their new chapter. The picnic was filled with their favorite treats: an artfully arranged charcuterie board, a delicious red velvet wedding cake, and, of course, champagne to toast their love. The setting was so intimate and laid-back, allowing them to savor each moment and bask in the joy of their new union.
The couple couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day — one that perfectly blended their love for each other and their shared memories of California. The combination of the stunning scenery, the relaxed atmosphere, and the personal touches made for a wedding day that was uniquely theirs.
Tips for Your Own Cliff-Top Elopement
If Hannah and Cory’s story has you dreaming of your own elopement on a cliff-top, here are a few tips to make your day just as magical. Choose a spot that holds personal significance or evokes a strong emotional connection. Whether it’s a place you’ve traveled to before or somewhere that aligns with your love for nature, make sure it’s a place that feels like ‘you.’ Working with a photographer who can double as a planner, like Rachel Levine Photography, ensures your day goes smoothly. We know the best spots and can plan an all-inclusive elopement for you. This couple’s package included Hair and makeup, a bridal bouquet that complimented her stunning gown and Cory’s coordination boutonniere, a professional wedding officiant, and two hours of wedding photography. To properly celebrate, they also chose our Boho-Picnic package; their entire event cost about $2500.
Elopements offer a chance to make your ceremony as unique as your relationship. Whether it’s a relaxed picnic, custom vows, or a symbolic gesture, focus on what makes your day truly yours. While the cliff-top setting is stunning, ensure you’re prepared for the weather, especially when tying the knot in a coastal location. Layer up, bring comfy shoes, and prepare for the wind and sun!
